Help and questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Invoices, clients, proposals, recurring invoices, payment plans, reminders, and reports are free with no limit. We earn a small fee when your clients pay you online, and from the optional Pro plan.
When is the payment fee charged?
Only when a client pays an invoice online through Stripe: 0.75% on Free, 0.25% on Pro. Payments you record yourself, like checks, cash, Zelle, or bank transfers, have no fee from us. Stripe also charges its own processing fee, as it would without us.
Where does my clients’ money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account, and from there to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule. PaidFinch never holds it.
Do I need Stripe?
Only to take payments online. Without it you can still send invoices with your own payment instructions or a PayPal link, and record payments as they come in.
Can I use the Stripe account I already have?
Yes. Choose “I already have a Stripe account” when you connect, and sign in to it. If you do not have one, Stripe walks you through creating one.
How can my clients pay?
By card, plus any other payment methods you turn on in your Stripe settings. Bank transfers (ACH) can be turned on in PaidFinch.
Can I run more than one business?
Yes, with Pro. Each business has its own clients, branding, numbering, and Stripe account, all from one sign in.
What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
Nothing is deleted. Pro features pause: automatic charges stop, retainers and time stay viewable, and extra businesses become read-only until you upgrade again or archive them.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Settings has a full export: every record as JSON, the main tables as CSV, and a PDF of every invoice, in one download.
How do I close my account?
Email us from the address you sign in with. Export anything you want to keep first. We will confirm what is deleted and anything we must keep, such as payment records.
Contact and support
Email support@paidfinch.com. Pro accounts are answered first.
If you are a client paying an invoice, the business that sent it is the best place to start: use “Have a question?” on the invoice page, or reply to the invoice email.
